Annual Growth Rate: 12 to 18 inches 

Comments: Shumard Oak is a versatile tree with a growth habit and fall color similar to Pin and Scarlet Oak. It is drought tolerant, and tolerant of urban conditions. Its descending lower branches give it a fullness that enhances its rounded form. The red fall color is striking on its pointed leaves.
