Comments: Although a lilac, this member of the genus is quite different in appearance than those with which gardeners are more familiar. This is a small tree, or is
occasionally available as a very large shrub. The showy white flowers, borne in early summer, are the main ornamental feature.
Deep green leaves, typical of the lilac genus, provide shade for
summer and the tree's rounded outline offers a nice addition to the
winter silhouette.
