Comments: Native Chokecherry is usually found in landscapes in the form of one of its cultivars. It is a cold hardy tree with clusters of
fanciful white flowers in the spring. The fruit are red at first and turn black with maturity.
Sometimes produces suckers, which can be removed to preserve the
tree's form.
Cultivars:
'Schubert' ('Canada Red') - The foliage emerges green but turns purple
with age. The fall color is orange and red.
'Schubert Select' ('Canada Red Select') - The foliage is darker red and thicker than 'Schubert.'
